BALTIC’s Godfrey Worsdale on The Turner Prize
I had the pleasure last week of hearing Worsdale speak in Miami at the Art & Finance conference presented by Deloitte. Worsdale participated in the panel discussion, “Musuems Funding Issues,” alongside James Knox from The Art Newspaper, who moderated, Julien Anfruns from the International Council of Museums, Martin Bethenod, Director of Palazzo Grassi, Scott Schaefer of the J.Paul Getty Museum, and Dr. Eric M. Zafran of the Wadsworth Atheneum.
By far, Worsdale and Bethenod were the most engaging panelists. There’s a humble charm to both of them, and a keen intelligence about art and the global art world, that is admirable.
I found this video of Worsdale speaking about The Turner Prize and I think it’s worth sharing, as its just a very interesting interview. The video was done prior to the announcement of the 2011 winner, Scot Martin Boyce, who was up against the heavily favored George Shaw.
